I noticed this for the first time the other day, too. This is either the sickest joke ever played, or the person who named this was a science guy with no exposure to literature - soma, after all, is also a rather benign word for the body and its accessories.
At least it's a muscle relaxer and not a Prozac competitor - that'd just be going too far.
