I usually confine my self-promotion to my own little internet backwater, but my latest piece of music just turned out so darned nice I fell the need to share it. This is from my new industrial/new wave band, which at the moment is just me and is called Towers Open Fire. If you're in the Iowa area and looking to tear shit up, I can be contacted below.
Towers Open Fire - Kill The Masters, Then Kill The Slaves
I should actually be releasing something from this project within the next month or two. I'm debating whether or not to call it the Tubgirl EP.
Nice. I like it, but think it could stand to be either a little shorter or have more variety in it. Perhaps a break? It started to lose its effect on me after a while. I particularly like the beat and the syncopated guitar part.
You're right, it's definitely too long. This is one of the main reasons I'm frustrated by my inability to find a band . . . having to coordinate with other people helps keep this sort of thing tight, forces you to learn structure rather than just noodling.
But . . . there's no guitar on this song. Just a drum machine, keyboards, and turntables. You must be hearing the turntables, with which I must say I am mighty pleased.
Hmm.. guess so. What sound were you scratching? It sounds like some old funk guitar.
It's the sound of a bomber taking off - the same sound from the collage at the start of the song. I guess I'm just funky like that.
Well, I liked it--started off wonderfully and there were some interesting riffs. Perhaps a bit too long.
